Chris Cox worked alongside Chris Fisher as a magic consultant for the 2017 production of ‘Barnum’ at the Menier Chocolate Factory in London.
Alongside creating magic effects for the show Chris work with the director and designer to incorporate them into the production. He taught the cast how to perform the tricks and gave regular note sessions to ensure the quality remained high throughout the run of the production.
US director Gordon Greenberg and his designer Paul Farnsworth have rearranged the Menier like a big top, and packed it full of a sexy, grungy cast who twirl and vamp and bust out some nifty little magic tricks (courtesy of Chris Cox) with winning zeal. There are moments when the tiny room seems to contain an impossible amount of life. It’s the best sort of flimflam.
